Both these titles were a clear proof of what the Holy Quran says about his character: S u rah Y u nus , 10:17 This verse means that when the Holy Prophet sa spoke to his people after prophethood, he said, “I have spent a large part of my life among you. Did any of you ever doubt my chastity, my piety, my honesty, and my trustworthiness during that time? When I have spent my youth with such chastity and honesty, would I then, upon becoming older, lie about God? Do you not possess the wisdom to understand such a simple fact?” If his people did not consider him to be honest and upright, why would they give him the title of Sa diq and if his people did not find him perfect in justice and trustworthiness, why would they address him as Am i n ?
