The news of the murder immediately reached the victim’s men. They ran after Barr ad but he had already escaped towards Khaibar. Two of ‘Urwah’s men named Asad bin Jawain and Mas a dir bin M a lik raced in pursuit of Barr ad to kill him wherever he was found and thus avenge ‘Urwah’s death. Unfortunately, both of these two men did not recognize Barr ad by face. They thought that once they reached Khaibar, they would ask around and kill him whenever they had an opportunity.
