Another disagreement we hold is that we believe that the initiation of a new sharia is not an exclusive condition for the advent of a prophet of God. As has been mentioned, prophets are sent to impart a true and authen- tic interpretation of the divine message and guide by their example. This necessity is not fulfilled by merely receiving a sharia. The need for any such appointee of God after the Holy Prophet sa would have been irrelevant if there had been no schism or discord in the umma of Muhammad sa.
