To Win the Love of Allah Allahumma innee as'aluka hubbaka wa hubba man-yu- hibbuka wal `amal-alladhee yu-ballighu-nee hubbaka: Allahum-maj`al hubbaka ahabba ilayya min-nafsee, wa ahlee, wa minal maa’il-baaridi O Allah! I supplicate You to grant me Your love, and the love of those who love You and the action which may lead me to win Your love. And make my love for You dearer to me than myself, my family and cold (refreshing) water. (Tirmidhi Kitab-ud-Da`waat)) This grand prayer of the Holy Prophet sa (previ- ously, of Hadrat Dawood as ), demonstrates his intense love for God Almighty, and his strong desire to continue to become as near as pos- sible to his beloved —Allah.
