The Fast is kept for My sake alone and I am the reward for it. (i. e. Allah will reward a person with nearness to Him). (Hadith Qudsee - Bukhari) Note: Hadith Qudsee is the one wherein the Holy Prophet sa refers to a revelation from Allah to the Prophet sa and this revelation is not the Quranic revelation. 29. Observance of Ramadan - Means of Forgiveness Man qaama ramadaana eemaan- wa-htisaaban ghufira lahoo maa taqaddama min dhanbi-hee He who observes Ramadan out of sincerity of faith, and in the hope of earning merit will have his past sins forgiven for him.
