BarĀhĪn-e-a H madiyya — Part Four 66 should remain in such peril resulting in eternal and everlasting damna- tion. Hence, in conformity with His eternal law that has been in opera- tion from the very beginning in both the physical and spiritual realms, God revealed the Noble Quran for the reformation of mankind. It was necessary that the Holy Quran be revealed at that time, for the existing plight of the dark age required such a magnificent Book and such a magnificent Messenger, and the true need demanded that—during this time of darkness that had engulfed the entire world, and had reached its ultimate extreme—the Sun of Truth should rise; for it was utterly impossible for such a dark night to alternate into a bright day by itself without the appearance of that Sun. Allah the Almighty alludes to this at another place as follows: ْمَل ِنُكَي َنْيِذَّلا اْوُرَفَك ْنِم ِلْهَا ِبٰتِكْلا َو َنْيِكِرْشُمْلا َنْيِّكَفْنُم ىّٰتَح ُمُهَيِتْاَت ُةَنِّيَبْلا ٌلْوُسَر َنِّم ِهّٰللا اْوُلْتَي 1 [ Part Number 30 ] — اًفُحُص ًةَرَّهَطُّم اَهْيِف ٌبُتُك ٌةَمِّيَق Meaning that, it was utterly impossible for those who disbelieved from among the People of the Book and the idolaters to tread the right path unless they were sent a magnificent Prophet who brought them such a magnificent Book which encompasses the divine insights and verities contained in all divine scriptures and is immaculate and free from every error and imperfection. Now, proving this argument is contingent upon establishing two premises. The first being that it is the very eternal law of God Almighty that He helps in times of physical or spiritual needs; that is to say, dur- ing times of physical distress He sends down rain etc. , and in times of spiritual distress He comes to the aid of His humble servants by reveal- ing His healing Word. Thus, this premise is self-evident. For, no reasonable person can deny that the only reason that both of these domains—the spiritual and the physical—have been able to remain whole and intact until today is that 1.
