Footnote Number Eleven 153 اجشم از یتسم و ددلار ولص ااہلشم ز دشہ احلص ہمہ Bonding with the Beloved and intoxication from His goblet Are possible only through the revelation of God. ت م�یس� رہاک الص �ی�ار آں ولص ت م�یس� ں الص اغلف آں اخ ی � واہکن ز Bonding with God is the ultimate cause of all objectives; Whoever forgets this cause remains unfulfilled. زاد ےب ہمہ ام عط�ی�ّات ےب ربابد ہمہ ام انع�ی�ات ےب We are totally indigent without His bounties; We are absolutely ruined without His favours. Here, I consider it appropriate to note that Pundit Shiv Narayan Agnihotri, who is a senior member of the Brahm u Sam a j of Lahore, has expressed some opposing views, which, in his opinion, go against my explanation for the need of divine revelation given above, in the hopes that he may somehow prevent the truth of this matter from having an effect upon his sect. He has struggled a great deal in this regard, and has even written a review with the utmost effort. However, as the well- known [Urdu] proverb goes, S a nch ko a nch nah i n [‘Truth has nothing to fear’], and since no one can hide the sun of truth, the result of what- ever effort the Pundit has exerted is only that it has become manifestly clear to the wise how averse he is to accepting the truth. The Pundit’s composition in no way merits any effort towards its rebuttal, albeit a careful study of my preceding discourse is more than sufficient to refute it. However, I deem it appropriate that, insincere as the writing of the Pundit may be, the reality [of its worthlessness] should be disclosed to the just, lest the Pundit feel aggrieved [for being ignored], or some of his friends, out of their wishful thinking, misper- ceive my silence as any sort of inability. Hence, it should be clear that in response to the evidence [of the Holy Quran’s incomparability] given by me, the Pundit has asserted in his review that the manner in
