Footnote Number Eleven — First Objection 77 ٴ ہ دل مک وبد در س�ی�ن � ی � �ن پ � ی ا� ٴ ہ ن اکں وبد اپک از رغور و ک�ی� Rare is the bosom that contains a heart, That is free from pride and malice. ادن مک ِ ینعم رمدم ت ت ی ت درح وگ ہمہ از روےئ وصرت رمدم ادن In reality, there are few who recognize the truth, Although they are all human as far as appearances go. ٴ ااتفدہ ےہچ در اے نک وہش از دتس ِ وخد در دادہ ی لقع و د� Beware! O you who are lying in the bottom of a pit, And have lost both reason and faith; وجم دحمودی ہب دحمودی ر ی ن � وجم دودی از ِ ضحم ِ ونر اکر Do not seek the Infinite [i. e. , God] with the finite [i. e. , reason], Do not make use of smoke in place of clear light. یاز ن � و ابزجع تسج د ی اب� آہچن و انز ن ی ب وت وجم اب ربک و وخد � That which should be sought with humility and prayers, Should not be sought with arrogance and pride. اوصل ِ ررہوی ی وَہ ہچ وخب تس ا� ونثمی در ِ ومولی �یاداگر What a beautiful principle this is, for the followers of the right path, A legacy of Maulav i [R u m i ], stated in his Mathnaw i : یاز ن � و تس تسکش دض ز�ی ریک اہنر امدر را وخرد لفط زاہکن اسبز ابوگیل و ذگبار ز�ی ریک درانکر اہندہ ابدش اپ و دتس Cunningness is contrary to humility and meekness; Give up cunningness and adopt humility, As a distressed, hungry, and thirsty mother, Wanders, carrying her young child in her lap.
