But if the Bah a ’ i s themselves were to bring out the book, then it would be a different matter" 74. In regard to Aqdas , Maul a n a Abul ‘A ta ’, a well- known divine and missionary of the Ahmadiyyah movement, writes in his Bah a ’ i Ta h r i k par Tab s irah : "From 1931 to 1936 I have been in Palestine, Syria, Iraq and Egypt. In Haifa I twice met the present leader of the Bah a ’ i s, namely, Shauq i A fand i. In the course of my interview on June 7, 1933, I requested that I be allowed to have a look at Aqdas. He told me clearly that he did not happen to have a copy with him, but that I might find it in Iraq. After that, with a great deal of endeavour, I succeeded in obtaining a copy through a friend, and had it printed at the Ahmadiyyah press in Kab a b i r, Jablul Karmal. In 1938, when I was in Bombay, on June 9 and 10, in the Bah a ’ i Hall, in the presence of the local president of the Bah a ’ i move- ment, I obtained an opportunity to compare the copy with me with the copy which happened to have been made available for me for consultation at that place.
