Conference was that the B a b was, in prison, while followers of the movement, generally speaking, were in great distress. Religious decrees had been issued by the ulema against the B a b i s, and the B a b i rally was designed to think out ways and means for meeting the situation. Outcome of the conference was a resolution that an organised and armed attempt should be made to rescue the leader of the movement. On the other hand, in order to avenge themselves on the ulema, the tendency was born and accelerated that they should cut themselves away from Islam altogether. This step, therefore, was; for the greater part, a retaliatory measure against the ulema: Bah a ’ull a h himself writes in Iqtid a r 30 : "If ‘the Muslims had not failed to yield belief to the claims of the movement, the Islamic Sharia would not have been abrogated. " As mentioned earlier, the four who took the most leading part in this Conference were: Mirz a H usain ‘Al i , mullah Muhammad ‘Al i , mullah H usain Bushrawaih, and Ummi Salm a , Qurratul ‘Ain.
