64 you Mas ih ibn-e-Maryam [the Messiah son of Mary] so that you might warn a people whose ancestors have not been warned and so that you might convey the message to another people. It may be that Allah will bring about friendship between you and those who are your enemies. We are aware of the matter and We know. All praise belongs to Allah who honoured you as the son-in-law and the son. Recall My bounty for you have seen My Khad i jah. 1 ٭ This status has been granted as a mercy from your Lord. ‘You are with Me and I am with you, O Ibr a h i m [Abraham]. You are a bright and decisive Sign. Allah will show His path through you. You are firmly established upon the attributes of God. You are a mani- festation of the Ever-Living. You are the beginning of the affair from Me. You are from Our water and they are from filth. When the two hosts meet I shall stand with My Messenger and angels will help him. I am the Gracious 1. ٭ This revelation is listed in Barahin-e-Ahmadiyya, and the quoted por- tion belongs to that revelation in which many years ago I was given the good news that I shall be married into the family of the Holy Prophet, and have children therefrom and this would be the fulfilment of the prophecy in the hadith ٗ یَتَزَوَّج ُ و َ یُوْلَد ُ لَہ ٗ یَتَزَوَّج ُ و َ یُوْلَد ُ لَہ —[He would marry and have chil- dren ( Mishk a tul-Mas a b ih , Kit a bul-Fitan, B a b Nuz u l ‘ I s a ‘Alaihis-Sall a m al-Fa s lul-Thalith, vol. 2, p. 491, Published by Maktabah Rahm a niyyah)]. This hadith is indicative of the fact that the Promised Messiah will be- come a son-in-law to the family of the Holy Prophet. According to the prophecy, the Promised Messiah’s relation was to be with a family of noble and high status, so that in accord with the promise of ٗ یُوْلَد ُ لَه یُوْلَد ُ لَه —the children born out of that marriage would be noble and righteous. The expression ْجَتِي ی ِ خَد ْجَتِي ی ِ خَد [My Khad i jah] means that the progeny would be the progeny of Khad i jah, that is, children of Fatimah. Author
