Number Four 171 would remain deprived of that light. This is the state- ment of Ha fi z Muhammad Y u suf that I have stated in his own words without any addition or subtraction of words. َ الْكٰذِبِيْن ى َ ُ ا ہّٰللِّٰ عَل ولَعْنَة [And the curse of Allah be upon the liars]. An additional argument in support of this is that Abdullah Ghaznavi made this very state- ment on another occasion differently in the presence of Ha fi z Muhammad Y u suf ’s real brother, Munsh i Muhammad Yaq u b. In this statement, he mentioned my name and then said that, in his opinion, the Mujaddid [Reformer] who was to come for the refor- mation of the world is Mirza Ghulam Ahmad s as. In the interpretation of a dream, he said that perhaps 1 ٭ the light seen descending on Qadian from the heavens is Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. Both these persons are living, 1. ٭ It should be noted that when Munsh i Muhammad Yaq u b, who is the real brother of Ha fi z Muhammad Y u suf, narrated this statement of Maulaw i Abdullah Ghaznavi at the occasion of the mub a halah [prayer duel] of Abdul Haqq Ghaznavi in front of around 400 people in Amritsar, he did not use the word ‘perhaps’. On the contrary, he had stated, while weeping profusely with tears flowing down his face, in cer- tain and decisive words that upon hearing my wife’s dream, Maulaw i Abdullah had said that the light which was seen in the dream descend- ing from heaven and lighting up the earth was Mirza Ghulam Ahmad s as of Qadian.
