ARBAIN NUMBER FOUR 171 would remain deprived of that light. This is the state- ment of Hafiz Muhammad Yūsuf that I have stated in his own words without any addition or subtraction of words. وَلَعْنَةُ اللهِ عَلَى الْكَذِبِينَ And the curse of Allah be upon the liars]. An additional argument in support of this is that Abdullah Ghaznavi made this very state- ment on another occasion differently in the presence of Hafiz Muhammad Yūsuf's real brother, Munshi Muhammad Yaqūb. In this statement, he mentioned my name and then said that, in his opinion, the Mujaddid [Reformer] who was to come for the refor- mation of the world is Mirza Ghulam Ahmadsas. In the interpretation of a dream, he said that perhaps¹ the light seen descending on Qadian from the heavens is Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. Both these persons are living, 1. It should be noted that when Munshi Muhammad Yaqub, who is the real brother of Hafiz Muhammad Yūsuf, narrated this statement of Maulawi Abdullah Ghaznavi at the occasion of the mubāhalah [prayer duel] of Abdul Haqq Ghaznavi in front of around 400 people in Amritsar, he did not use the word 'perhaps. On the contrary, he had stated, while weeping profusely with tears flowing down his face, in cer- tain and decisive words that upon hearing my wife's dream, Maulawī Abdullah had said that the light which was seen in the dream descend- ing from heaven and lighting up the earth was Mirza Ghulam Ahmadsas of Qadian.
