A pproaching the West—87 have been killed [Washington Post] thus causing a tremendous increase in the suffering of ordinary people among the Muslims. And we wonder why the radicals among them hate America!! Still we want to know why the radical Mull ā s are crying “Death to America!” Millions of Iraqi Muslims—nearly 15% of the population—have fled their homes since the invasion in 2003 [UNICEF]. Half the refugees are children. [ 2 ] Jih ā d in Isl ā m: As the term Jih ā d” has been repeated many times in the documentary, therefore, please allow me to explain what Jih ā d in Isl ā m is! It is a great tragedy in the history of Isl ā m that the concept of Jih ā d was distorted by over-zealous preachers and radical Muslim scholars. The founder of the A ḥ madiyya Movement in Isl ā m, Ḥ a ḍ rat Mirz ā Ghul ā m A ḥ mad (may peace be on him) recognized this dangerous trend that was entirely contrary to the teachings of the Qur’ ā n. More than 100 years ago, in his book entitled “The British Government and Jih ā d,” published in AD 1900 in India, he wrote, It should be remembered that today’s Isl ā mic scholars (who are called maulaw ī s) completely misunderstand Jih ā d and misrepresent it to general public.
