A pproaching the West—187 S ū rah Al-Zilz ā l (The Earthquake), shaking of the earth is described in following words: When the earth is shaken with her violent shaking, And the earth throws up her burdens, And man says, ‘What is the matter with her?’ On that day will she tell her news, It will be because your Lord would have so revealed to her. On that day will men issue forth in scattered groups that they may be shown the results of their works. Then whoso does an atom’s weight of good will see it, And whoso does an atom’s weight of evil will also see it. (99:2-9) Again, in S ū rah Al-Nab ā : The day when the trumpet will be blown; and you will come horde after horde; and the heaven shall be opened and shall become all doors; and the mountains shall be made to move and shall become as if they were a mirage. Surely, Hell lies in ambush, a home for the rebellious; they will tarry therein for ages. (78:19-24)
