320 AHMADIYY AT the excellent example that he has throughout furnished of a completely devoted, God-fearing, righteous person, who has proved himself an affectionate and helpful friend and brother for everyone, irrespective of caste, creed, age or sex. Today the Ahmadiyya Community in Qadian numbers more than two thousand and leads a totally beneficent and active vigorous existence. Qadian is a very active centre for all the Indian branches of the Movement, and as such operates at a high level. All over India the branches of the Movement continue to function efficiently in ever-widening circles of activity. The attendance at the Annual Conference of the Movement at Qadian has been growing steadily, and runs into thousands. One very satisfactory and striking feature is that a substantial proportion of those participating in the Annual Conference is non-Muslim. The Ahmadiyya High School at Qadian has several non-Muslim students on its rolls. All the central departments of the Movement at Qadian function efficiently and vigorously and the annual budget of the Central Organization now runs into hundreds of thou- sands of rupees and is constantly growing. The Ahmadiyya community in Qadian is the only Muslim community in the Indian Province of the Punjab. It has throughout, in adversity and in. comparative prosperity, most worthily upheld the banner of Islam and Ahmadiyyat, and has illustrated, in practice, the highest standard of moral and spiritual values inculcated by Islam. Needless tQ say there is complete accord. between Qadian and Rabwah, each in turn complements and supplements the other. The shifting of the world headquarters of the Move- ment from Qadian to Rabwah that became inevitable in the middle of the terrible holocaust of the summer and autumn of 1947, was certainly a part of the divine design and was accepted as such by the Community. The prophecies relating to that event have unfolded their purpose over the years, they also indicated, very clearly, that Qadian would, once again, become the world headquarters of the Movement.
