none of these states or conditions could be considered to have physically fallen from heaven. And yet the Holy Quran uses the expression nuzul in relation to the descent of these non material and non physical states of human mind and morality. . Infact, even when the Holy Quran refers to material things which God. Almighty has sent down for the benefit of mankind, there is absolutely no suggestion that these are physically sent down from heaven. For instance, the Almighty Lord states that He has 'sent down iron, wherein there is material for violent warfare and many benefits for mankind' 27 or that He has 'sent down to the children of Adam, raiment to cover their shame. ' 28 In none of these verses is there a suggestion that the iron or the raiment which. God Almighty sent down for the benefit of mankind were physically dropped by Him from heaven nor do these verses imply that God Almighty required His angels to physically carry these from above. . It is hence apparent that in these verses of the Glorious Quran, the expression nuzul merely signifies the sending down of Almighty God's favours upon mankind and not an actual physical descent of these materials. .
