The first Ahmadiyya Muslim Missionary in America, Hazrat Dr. Mufti Muhammad Sadiq, arrived in New York on February 25, 1920; but he was detained in Ellis I sland, New York. Soon after his arrival, Dr. Sadiq established the first Headquarters of Ahmadiyya Move- ment in Islam in Chicago, Illinois. In 1922, the first Ahmadiyya Mosque was established in Chicago at 4448 Wabash Ave- nue. The money for this project was donated by Ahmadis in India.
