(1893- 7985). azrat Chaudary Muhammad Zafrullah Khan (1893-1985) ser v ed as a Judge of the Federal Court of India (1941-1947). Upon the ~~~~ independance of Pakistan, he became its first Foreign Minister and the leader of its delegations to the United Nations serv- ing as Pres i dent of U. N. General A sse mb ly in 1962-63. He became the Pres i den t of th e I nterna t iona l Court of Jus tice at the Hague in. 1970. Hazrat Chaudary Muhammad Zafrul l ah Khan , a distinguished scholar in world re l e- gi ons , and author of several books on Islam and Ahmadiyyat, represented Is la m in numer- ous international in ter-faith meetings. His first participation in t he United States was in 1932 in the World Faith Congress held in Chicago. He v isi_ted many times the Ahmadiyya Mis - sions in various American cities. In 1949 he facilitated the purchase of a building in Wash- i ng to n DC which is serving as the Headquar- ter of Ahmad iyya Movement in USA. His last vi sit was in 1984 when he presided over and spoke to an All Religions Founders Day meet- ing at the Un i versity of Maryland at College Park. Dr. Abdus Salam , with missionaries of Ahmadiyya M ov ement in Islam in Washington DC n~::;~ rofessor Abdus Salam was awarded the Noble Prize for Physics in 1979 , for his theoritical unifica- tion of the two fundamental fo r ces a~~~ of nature. A year before the Noble Prize , he was awarded the Royal Medal of th e Royal Society of London. He is a Fore ign Member of the National Academy of Sciences of USA. His association with UN goes back to 1955, when he became Sc i ent if ic Secretary to the Geneva Conference on the Peace ful Uses of Atom ic Energy. He is very active in promot- ing scientific resea rch in developing coun- tries.
