Ahmadiyyah Muslim Jam a ‘at and the Palestinian Muslims [ 2 ] H u du r rta said: The verses that I have recited are from S u rah A l-e-‘Imr a n. The first verse is 111 and the other three verses are 114– 116. These verses emphasise the need for doing tabl i gh to the People of the Book, while stating in a most beautiful and sagacious manner that if the People of the Book do not accept Islam, then it would be to their own detri- ment. As far as the ser vants of the Holy Prophet Muhammad s a are concerned, they cannot then be charged with neglecting their duty to convey the mes- sage; indeed, they preach in a manner such that their arguments are clearly established. What’s more, the Holy Qur’an generally forbids us to completely dismiss the People of the Book or to declare them accursed, as if they had no redeeming qualities. The Holy Qur’an asserts that it is against the will of Allah the Almighty to pronounce an entire people accursed, which would imply that there were absolutely no good people from among them. This elucidation of the Holy Qur’an grants hope to those whom the Muslims had deemed (or still deem) apparently dead. Allah the Almighty can give life to the dead, so we should never lose hope for these peo- ple, nor should we be negligent of our obligations towards them.
