Ahmadiyyah Muslim Jama'at and the Muslims of India [ 14 ] ‘Al i. I shall read out the names of some of the eminent leaders who participated in this conference: Shams-ul- ‘ulam a Khaw a ja H asan Ni za mi, Sir Mi an Fa z al H ussain, Dr. Sir ‘All a mah Muhammad Iqb a l, Sir Z ulfiq a r ‘Al i, Naw a b Sahib Kunjp u ra, Kh a n Bah a dur Sheikh Ra hi m Bakhsh, Syed Muhammad Mo h sin Sh a h (Advocate), Maulav i Muhammad Ism a ‘ i l Ghazanv i (Amratsar i) , Maulav i N u r- ul- H aq (owner of Muslim Outlook ), Syed H ab i b Sahib (edi- tor, Siy a sat ), and others. Other than these, Maulav i M i rak Sh a h (formerly professor Deoband) participated as a repre- sentative of Kashmir, and Allah Rakh a S a ghir as representa- tive of Jamm u. At the end of the conference, Dr. Sir ‘All a mah Muhammad Iqb a l proposed the name of Hadrat Khal i- fatul Mas ih II ra [as president], and said: I submit this proposal because if the intent is to see the Kashmir Movement as a success, then no one is more capable than the Imam of the Ahmadiyyah Muslim Jam a ‘at, Mirz a Bashir-ud-Din Ma h m u d Ahmad. On hearing this, voices arose from all directions in its sup- port, and Hadrat Khalifatul Masih II ra was unanimously elected as the President of this Conference.
