( Masnad Im a m Ahmad bin H anbal , Hadith no. 17295, vol. 5, p. 846–847, ‘ A limul-Kutub, Beirut, 1998) Maulav i Ludhi a na vi should take into consideration the beliefs of his religious elders before presenting his own inadequate version of the Ahmadiyya point of view. At least his leader presented the Ahmadiyya viewpoint with greater honesty. Ahmadis hold exactly the same views as some of his religious leaders. For instance, regarding the belief under discussion, it can be said without any fear or contradiction that Ahmadis hold the same belief as the learned Maul a n a Ma h m u dul- H asan and ‘All a mah Shabb i r Ahmad ‘Uthm a n i [renowned scholars of the Deoband i school of thought]. The following was written in the book Tafs i r-e-‘Uthm a n i : In this regard, we can say that he was Kh a tamun-Nabiyy i n both in respect of rank as well as in respect of time scale. And whoever became the recipient of prophethood did so in consequence of receiving the impress of the Holy Prophet’s Seal of Prophethood.
