They were naturally reluctant to pay such a tribute to Muslims, which would go against their own faith. Therefore, instead of admitting plainly that the Muslims’ guru was mightier than theirs, they said that the Muslims’ guru was mightier in only muddy situations, implying that they had not accepted the superiority of the Muslims’ guru. As we would say in Punjabi: ' Muslei d a g u r u , Khobei d a tag r h a aiy '. (The Muslim’s g u r u is mightier indeed in muddy situations). We are not the followers of such a guru who possesses powers confined only to certain areas; we are the disciples of One Guru who is the Master in all situations and is Superior and excels in His dignity over everything. He guides us from darkness into light. His followers are never subdued or apprehended by darkness; they walk in any condition. They are not like the ones mentioned in the Holy Quran thus: … … …When the darkness falls on them, they stand still … (S u rah al-Baqarah; Ch. 2: V. 21)
