In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Ever Merciful. The Islamic system of evidence covers a very wide area. When we contemplate over it in the light of Quranic statements and sayings of the Holy Prophet sa , we may not liken it to the system of evidence as prevails in the worldly courts. The Islamic system of evidence is in fact so wide that it covers not only the basics of justice but also comprises benevolence and kinship. Again, the expanse it covers is so wide that God considers justice binding even upon Himself and also treats His creation with benevolence and kinship wherever appropriate. Likewise, He presents a system of justice, benevolence and kinship, equally binding on His Prophets as. Similarly, God presents the same system of evidence as covering the people of the past and the people of the future. He also covers the Muslim’s internal disputes and their disagreements with their non-Muslim fellow beings. In all such places, one can discern the manifestation of not only justice but also of benevolence and kinship.
