— Part I 20 evolution is that while the previous evolution was mainly physical and mental, the latter one will be mental, moral and spiritual. The mental aspect of evolution comprises the evolution of all five senses. The subsequent verse of the same Surah throws light on this subject and gives solutions to these issues. The first question which the Holy Quran raises in this Surah is the same as has just been discussed. It pointedly speaks of the danger of man reverting to his earlier lowly states if he abandons the principle of justice. Then We degraded him to the lowest of the low. (S u rah al-T i n; Ch. 95: V. 6) In the above verse, the Arabic expression Asfala S a fil i n is translated as 'the lowest of the low'. But it cannot be inferred from this that man will begin his physical devolution and would ultimately sink to the lowest form of life, maybe becoming an amoeba or sinking even lower. Yet at the same time a door of hope is opened, leading to a path of never ending eternal progress for those who would believe in Allah and do righteous deeds. It is promised that their journey into spiritual evolution will never come to an end. It should be remembered that it is the course of justice which provides the basis for righteousness. No act which is
