When he bowed for Ruku ‘ he slid her to the ground, when he got up he lifted her again. 73 According to the jurisprudence taught to pupils nowadays, if someone carries something during his prayer or does something else distracting his attention, his prayer is broken. It is said that once a simple- minded pupil was being taught hadith by a mullah. When this narration was mentioned he said, 'Oh! So the prayer of the Holy Prophet sa was broken!' However, this exceptional conduct of Ras u lull a h sa cannot be acquired as a general practice. If all people carry children on their shoulders or in their arms while praying, they certainly cannot maintain their concentration like the Holy Prophet sa could. No one can Dedicate one’s own Child without his Consent Regarding the dedication of one’s children, the Holy Quran further advances this subject and admonishes that even one’s own children are not the parent’s property and they cannot be sacrificed on the altar of Allah without their consent. Narrating the incident of Hadrat Ibr a h i m’s as readiness to slaughter his child for the sake of Allah the Holy Quran declares:
