Justice in Speech 351 Examples of Absolute Justice Dispensed by the Holy Prophet sa of Islam There are scores of examples that can be and have been quoted, during this series of addresses, where the Holy Prophet sa dispensed justice in its absolute meaning. He is known to have given his verdict in favour of a Jew or even an idolater against a Muslim. According to his personal conduct in matters of financial disputes, not only did the Holy Prophet sa dispense justice but he went a step further to treat a claimant with kindness and paid more than his dues to him. The same he strongly admonished to his Companions. This conduct of his was not only applicable to disputes, but also as a general personal behaviour; he always paid a person more than his dues and he promoted the same in the society of his Companions. At times his financial dealings were amazing and crossed the bounds of kindness into the realm of one’s treatment to one’s next of kin. Hence without a doubt, the Holy Prophet sa was not only a man of absolute justice but his conduct revealed many glorious manifestations of kindness and even of treating his servants as though they were his real next of kin.
