Covenants, their Different Categories, Punishments and Rewards 311 rescind a part thereof. According to the Holy Quran, such people do not break their trust only with God, but do it habitually to each other. There are only a few exceptions of those whom God guards against this disease. The entire people do not become corrupt, only their majority does. Looking at this from another angle, one can conclude that the seeming punishment is a natural consequence of their own diseases rather than something imposed from the outside. Looking at it from this angle intensifies in the mind of the observer the importance of justice. The breaking of a covenant is a grave disregard of justice which finally results in diseases with multiple fatal consequences. Where these punishments are enumerated, the adherence to justice by God Himself is also highlighted. The verse points out to the believers that they must not condemn an entire people without exception, of corruption, dishonesty and break of trust. The exception is mentioned in the words , 'Except a few from among them'. Allah knows full well that among them are many pious, God-fearing and trustworthy people. Caution is essential for human beings in condemning others because they are not All-Knowing as God is. Addressing the same subject of violation of covenants, the Holy Quran mentions another ill- consequence of the same, which according to this part of the verse (13:26) 'On them is the curse and they shall have a grievous
