— Part III 304 can ever come, then why was there any need for taking the same covenant from the Holy Prophet sa as well. Evidently, non Law-bearing Prophets as , fully subordinate to him, were to appear in his own umma (people), fully testifying to his teaching and supporting him. According to this verse, they must also be fully supported by the umma of the Holy Prophet sa. It should be remembered that in the covenant taken from the Prophets as , it is meant that their followers would support the future Prophets as because at the time of their appearance, the Prophets as from whom the covenant was taken would certainly have died. The Covenant of the People of the Book Again, the Holy Quran mentions a covenant as the covenant of the people of the Book, which clearly describes the responsibilities on their shoulders after they have accepted the Book to be from God. It is amazing how the Holy Quran does not leave out any category of religious contracts. The covenant in question is mentioned in the following words:
