— Part II 196 manifestation of I t a ’i Dhil-Qurb a. From this angle, it becomes easy to understand why the Holy Prophet sa was promised a much higher status among all intercessors. God today is the same benevolent God as showed His special favours to the Holy Prophet sa and other pious servants of his time. In ordinary circumstances the laws of nature are permitted to take their course. It so happens that when God permits someone to intercede, some hidden laws take over and the ordinary course of laws is dominated by them. This happened many times in the time of the Holy Prophet sa but even in this age we have witnessed the same in the case of the Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hadrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as. But it should be remembered that it was not a new blessing of this nature shown specifically to him; it was the continuation of the blessings of the Holy Prophet sa , which manifest themselves in this age through him. One such instance is presented here for the sake of illustration. Hadrat Munsh i Z afar Ahmad ra narrates the incident of a student named Muhammad H ay a t who was suffering from plague. The Promised Messiah as sent one of his close followers, Hadrat Maulaw i N u r-ud- D i n ra to examine the patient. Upon examination, he found all the symptoms of plague to be present.
